Transport in Poland

  • City name Kraków (in Polish) or Cracow (in English) refer to the same place.
  • Before our trainings we usually meet at the Space Technology Center (building D3) at the AGH University campus

  • The nearest airport is John Paul II International Airport Kraków–Balice (KRK).
  • The nearest train station is Kraków Główny.
  • From the airport you can take train, bus or Uber to the city center.
  • Uber from the airport to the city center takes approximately 20-30 minutes and costs around EUR 8.
  • Train from the airport to the city center takes approximately 20-30 minutes and costs around EUR 2.
  • Bus (line 300) from the airport to the city center takes approximately 30-40 minutes and costs around EUR 1.
  • Bus tickets can be purchased from a ticket machine on the bus or at the bus stop.

Training prices do not include transportation to or from Cracow, Poland. You are responsible for arranging your own travel to Cracow, as well as transportation between the airport or train station and our office or a meeting place at AGH University campus before the mission.

However once we meet, we will provide transportation to and from the habitat or other trainings such as human centrifuge in Warsaw or DeepSpot in Mszczonów, for the duration of your stay. This cost is included in the price of the training, so you will not have to worry about it.

In some cases we can drop you off at the airport or train station after the training, but this is not guaranteed and will depend on the schedule of your flight or train.

Before our trainings we usually meet at the Space Technology Center (building D3) at the AGH University of Science and Technology campus in Cracow, Poland.

Our AATC office is also located in Cracow, Poland, but this serves only administrative purposes and is not a meeting place for trainings.

Airport to Meeting Place

  • The nearest airport is John Paul II International Airport Kraków–Balice (KRK).
  • Airport is located about 11 km (7 mi) west of the city center of Cracow.
  • From the airport you can take train, bus or Uber to the city center.
  • Uber from the airport to the city center takes approximately 20-30 minutes and costs around EUR 8.
  • Train from the airport to the city center takes approximately 20-30 minutes and costs around EUR 2.
  • Bus (line 300) from the airport to the city center takes approximately 30-40 minutes and costs around EUR 1.

You are also responsible for arranging your own transportation to/from the airport and our meeting place before the mission (usually AGH University campus in Cracow city center).

We discourage the use of regular taxis and other means of transportation! Note that Uber is more affordable here and is the easiest and fastest means of transportation to/from the city or airport, especially if you are in a hurry to catch your flight.

Make sure you have an active Uber account and a valid payment method linked to your account. Please set and confirm your payment method before your arrival, it will save you a lot of time and trouble.

Train Station to Meeting Place

  • The nearest train station is Kraków Główny
  • It is located in the city center of Cracow, walking distance from the old market square.
  • From the train station, you can take an Uber or a bus to reach AGH University campus (building D3).
  • The bus ticket costs 1 EUR and can be purchased at the ticket machine in the bus or at the bus stop.
  • You can pay for the bus ticket using contactless payment card only! (no cash accepted)
